Betty Smith Obituary

Betty Jo Smith, a beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed away on August 12, 2025, at the Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi. She was born on April 17, 1982, in Senatobia, Mississippi, and her vibrant spirit and kind heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

There will be a memorial service held to celebrate the life of Betty Jo at 1:00 on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Betty Jo was a woman of many interests, finding joy in relaxing moments, indulging in her favorite pastime of getting her nails done, and savoring the sweetness of southern sweet tea. She delighted in dining out with her family and cherished the warmth of her home. Above all, Betty Jo's greatest love was reserved for her family, who were the center of her universe.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Chris Smith, and their two cherished children: Tyler Bishop of Senatobia and Madison Smith of Sarah. The memories they created together will forever be a source of comfort. Betty Jo also leaves behind her brother, Justin Blake Miller of Gautier, who shared countless memories and laughter with her throughout their lives. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Joe Miller and Jerri Hudgins Miller, who provided her with a loving foundation that shaped her kind personality.

Betty Jo was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin Keith Miller, who now watches over her as they reunite in peace.

Her legacy of kindness, love, and family devotion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
