Lorette Todd Obituary

Lorette Todd, a cherished seamstress, dedicated babysitter, and beloved matriarch, passed away on February 7, 2025, in NMMC-Tupelo, MS, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, hard work, and unwavering generosity. Born on July 27, 1944, in Chickasaw County, Lorette's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, friends, and her craft.

A proud graduate of Okolona High School, Lorette built a career that reflected her diligent nature and creativity. Her work as a seamstress for Amory Garment and People loungers showcased her talent and passion. Beyond her profession, she extended her kindness through babysitting, creating lasting bonds with the families she served. Friends often remarked about her hardworking spirit and her nature of giving to others, evident in every stitch she sewed and every child she cared for.

Lorette's heart was as expansive as her love for family, manifesting in her various hobbies which included camping, shopping, gardening, and raising her family. Her garden was not merely a source of produce; it was a testament to her nurturing spirit, thriving just as her family did under her careful watch. Her proudest accomplishments shone through her vibrant blooms and her determination, even leading her to drag her walker behind her as she tended to her beloved plants.

Lorette's quick wit and infectious laughter were often accompanied by her favorite sayings, "Get In or Out" and "Let's Go." These phrases became more than just words; they were a reflection of her personality—a reminder to embrace life fully.

She leaves behind her beloved children, Rodney Todd (Sherry), Chad Todd, Barry Todd, and Karen Todd. A proud grandmother, Lorette relished in the joy her 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren brought to her life. Each moment spent with them was a treasure, filled with shared laughter and stories, an embodiment of the family values she instilled in all.

Lorette was preceded in death by her dear husband, James E. Todd; her parents, William and Allie Wooten; her brothers, William Wooten Jr. and Bobby Wooten; and her sisters, Berlene Barnett, Leona Lewis, and Maureen Cobb. Their memories linger on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Close friends, including Peggy Todd, Larry and Bessie Todd, and Mike and Charlotte Todd, alongside countless others, will forever hold Lorette's spirited essence close to their hearts.
