Katralia Brownlee Obituary

PLANTERSVILLE - Katralia Kohlheim Brownlee received her star and crown after a period of declining health. Katralia died at her Plantersville resident on Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was 67 years old. Born in Tupelo on June 9, 1957, to the late Mattie L. Wade, she accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of the St. Paul Outreach M.B. Church, where she served as an usher until her health began to fail. A simple lady with flair and dignity, Katralia loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren. She loved life, being kind and serving her God. Outdoorsy, Katralia enjoyed the sport of softball, shopping, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren. Not afraid of work, Katralia worked as a server, a cafeteria worker, and spent most of her working life as an Assembly/Paint associate at Day-Brite Lighting in Tupelo. A Proverbs 31 lady, she lived the wisdom of King Solomon when he wrote in Proverbs 31, "Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness". A grateful family and community will deeply miss her. A service celebrating her life and love will be celebrated at 2 PM Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 from Creek Outreach Church (formerly Mud Creek MB Church), 1164 Birmingham Ridge Road, Saltillo, MS. 38866 with Pastor Johnny Bobo officiating. Visitation will be from 4 PM-6 PM Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo and from 1 PM-service time on Saturday at the Church. The committal will be private. Katralia is survived by her six children, Bruce Kohlheim of Shannon, Joseph Kohlheim (Estlean) of Plantersville, Andrea Brownlee of Plantersville, Consquelia Kohlheim of Tupelo, Camille Kohlheim of Verona, and Antonyo Watkins (Dominique) of Una; 10 grandchildren, Quavay Kohlheim, Te'Arrow Kohlheim, Raven Smith, Ketrick Spears, K'vion Spears, Dariyah Crump, Bre Jones, Antonyo Watkins, Jr., Jeremiah Cooperwood, and Orlando Brownlee; 1 great-granddaughter, A'Sanii; 2 uncles, Herbert Kohlheim (Patricia) of Tupelo and Earnest Kohlheim of Omaha, Nebraska; 1 aunt, Burnice Gardner of Tupelo; 4 bonus children, Robert Brownlee, Jr., Rachel Rogers, Jari Garth, and Dave Foster; a special friend/sister, Shirley Tucker; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including her Day-Brite Family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Rap Tap" Brownlee; her mother, Mattie L. Wade; her sister, Gloria Wade; her son, Adrian "Dell" Brownlee; 3 aunts, Lannie Scott, Vera Gardner and Vernell Wilder, and 2 uncles, Willie Kohlheim and Ozell Kohlheim; 2 special friends/sisters, Debra Watkins and Barbara Cayson. The family extends gratitude to their Mom's hospice nurse, Hayleigh Hawkins. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to serve their friends. She would always speak to me even if we didn't know one another name but we would always speak and remember where we knew one another from an after that we would remember. Always had a smile on her face, rest in peace . God, give her family strength and healing .
