Charles Hill Obituary

Charles Ray Hill Sr., 90, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his home in Tupelo. He was born July 1, 1934 in Dumas, MS to Ellis and Emily Hill. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean war. He was a member of Traceland Baptist Church. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed bird watching, and loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hill of Tupelo; three children, Nancy Bishop (John) of West Point, Joe Hill of New Albany, and Susan King (John) of Tupelo; seven grandchildren, Michael Altom, Melissa Funderburk (Brad), Meagan Robinson (Matt), Brandon Holley (Elizabeth), Stephanie Caple, Duncan King, and Liam King;12 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Chapman, and one brother, Robert Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Charles Hill Jr.and Steven Hill; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Hill; brothers, Carroll Hill, Ross Hill, and Wayne Hill; one sister, Earnestine Moffitt. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be John King, Don King, Danny Simmons, Duncan King, Manuel Mauney, and Randy Hill.
