Betty Mae Harris Palmer
Smithville – Betty Mae Palmer, 66, passed away and met her Savior face to face on Thursday, January 2, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1958, in Amory, MS, she was a daughter of Jeff and Addie Mae Harris.
Betty grew up in Monroe County with one sister and two brothers. She graduated with the Amory High School class of 1976 and married Billy Palmer in 1981. Together they were blessed with two children and three grandchildren and many happy years together. Billy was her best friend and they enjoyed doing life together, loving each other through the good and hard times. Betty helped her husband and the family by working initially at Amory Garment in the shipping department. Later, she worked one of the most important jobs, she was a wonderful homemaker, helping raise their family.
She was loving and devoted to her family, always putting them first. Betty had a giving spirit and her grandkids held a special place in her heart. She was of the Baptist faith and believed in Jesus and His saving grace. Her faith in God was evident to others and her family is so grateful for all the years of support and love she gave them. Nothing could ever damper her spirit and determination in life, often times she would just simply say “I got this”. In her downtime, she enjoyed traveling and going shopping.
Her legacy of love and the great memories made will be treasured by her children and grandchildren. She will be missed so much by all that knew and loved her.
