Alex Diaz Obituary

Alex Christopher Diaz, age 34, died January 9, 2025, of a sudden and unexpected illness at the Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, Florida. He was a member of Ingomar Baptist Church in New Albany, Mississippi. He and his wife, Amber, had moved to Florida two years ago and were attending Calvary Church of Clearwater. During his youth he participated in mission work and went on a mission trip to Nicaragua. Alex graduated from Ingomar High School in 2009. He obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Mississippi in 2013, and a year later attended graduate school to become a Certified Public Accountant. He was immediately employed by Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company where he has been a valued and much respected employee. May 29, 2016, was the beginning of a beautiful and loving marriage to Amber Stokes Diaz of Ecru, Mississippi. The ceremony was held in Savannah, Georgia, where the out-of-state guests were able to tour the sights for several days. They loved to travel, attend ball games and the theater, and while in Florida to visit the beach. His beloved dog, Ollie, preceded him in death almost a year ago. When he had days off from work he often helped Amber with activities involving Amber's patients at the assisted living facility where she works. Most recently he gave out gifts there as the Grinch Who Stole Christmas-which the residents thoroughly enjoyed! It can be said that he was a shining light to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Amber; his parents, Robert and Debra Diaz; his sister, Christina Diaz Crane (Justin), and their children: Jude and Rachel White, and Anna and Grayson Crane; his maternal grandmother, Audrey May; his paternal grandmother, Gladys Diaz; his uncle, Sam Brown; Amber's close-knit family including her parents, Phil and Kim Stokes, and her sisters, Callie Lucroy (Corie) and Skylar Stokes, of Ecru. There are more family members and many, many friends and co-workers who loved him and will miss him deeply. A visitation will be held at United Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again at Ingomar Baptist Church on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service time at 2:00 p.m. It will be officiated by Bro. Justin Varnon of Woodland Baptist Church in Pontotoc, and long-time friend and minister, Corey Hall of Amaziah Baptist Church in Hickory Flat. The outpouring of love and support which has already been shown on social media, and by visits, phone calls, and texts, is so much appreciated by Alex's family. United Funeral Service is honored to be entrusted with these arrangements. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Alex Diaz, please visit our floral store.

I worked in the lunch room while our kids were small. I watched Alex and Christine
griw up with Lauren and Eric McCord.
I am so so sorry to hear of Alex passing. We are certainly praying for you all.
