Camille Fanelli Obituary

UTICA – Camille F. Fanelli, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 25, 2024, in the comfort and dignity of her home. At the time of her passing, she was reunited with her mother, June, who preceded her a mere 21 days prior, as well as her father, George. Born in Utica on March 14, 1953, Camille was the daughter of the late George A. and June F. (Garramone) Fanelli. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1971 and furthered her education at MVCC where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing and obtained her Registered Nurse license. At one time, Camille was wed to David N. Campola, Sr. and from that union came the blessings of their son and daughter. Camille was once employed with Parkway Drugs and later went on to work for various nursing homes in the Utica area, including St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Heritage Health Care Center, and the Masonic Care Community of NY where she provided skilled care and compassion to her geriatric patients. Currently, Camille was serving as a Professional Registered Nurse with The Arc Oneida-Lewis Chapter. A strong-willed woman, Camille held true to her convictions and made sure everyone knew where she stood. She valued politics and could be labeled as steadfast at times on certain matters. She also had a creative side, excelling in cake decorating, ceramics, and crocheting. She enjoyed the environment of the Turning Stone Resort Casino, which she found to be a good source of entertainment. Camille cherished her canine companions, Paris, and Zackery. A member of Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes Campus, Camille's Catholic faith truly grew as time passed and became a cornerstone of her strength and being. Camille is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. David and Michele Campola; and daughter and son-in-law, June and Peter Preisner. She was a loving grandmother to Anthony Campola, Sophia Campola; and PJ Preisner. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her siblings and their spouses, Marilyn and Joseph "J.C." Leone, Georgene and Richard Ambruso, and Gaetano "Guy" and Lauran Fanelli; nieces and nephews, Alicia and Anthony DeSarro, Marlaina and Dominick Morbidini; Amara Ambruso, Ryan Ambruso, Alec Ambruso; Nicholas Fanelli and his fiancée Michelle Williams, and Marisa Fanelli and her fiancé Aaron Terry; great-nieces and great-nephews, Adrianna, Anthony, and Alexander DeSarro; and Giuliana, Giovanni, and Sophia Morbidini; aunts, Carol J. Conino (the late Andrew Conino); and Bonnie Ann Paratore (the late Peter Paratore); a host of cousins; and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Memorial contributions in Camille's honor may be made to the Anita's Stevens Swan Humane Society online at www.anitas-sshs.org/donate; envelopes will also be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Camille's Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes Campus, 2222 Genesee St. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery.
