Annette Mercier Obituary

Annette P. Mercier, 89, formerly of Broad Street, Durhamville, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, in the Masonic Care Community, where she had been a resident for the past three years. Born in Cazenovia on May 12, 1935, she was the daughter of F. Howard and Clara Beecher Planck. A lifelong resident of Central New York, Annette was a graduate of Earlville High School, Class of 1953, Morrisville College, Class of 1954 and was an LPN for Oneida Hospital. She married Philip J. Mercier in Stockbridge on July 30, 1955. Mr. Mercier died on April 10, 1990. Prior to her retirement in 2001, Annette was employed with the Oneida City School District as a bus driver. She was of the Protestant faith, attending Durhamville Baptist Church where she was the former treasurer and member of the choir and the Rome Presbyterian Church where she was also sung in the choir. She had a great love for her grandchildren and was a member of the Rome Choral Group and volunteered at the Kallet Civic Center. Surviving are: sister, Candice Irwin of Earlville; two daughters, Pamela (Ed) Williams of Bayside, Maine and Punta Gorda, Florida and Yvonne (John) Turner of Ava Maria, Florida; two sons, Rex C. (Eveline) Mercier of Dubai, UAE and Dean J. (Jennifer) Mercier of Westmoreland; six grandchildren, Candace Williams, Kelly Turner, Dustin Mercier, Bailey Mercier, Christopher Mercier and Vincent Mercier; one great-grandson, Mark; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a stepson, Philip A. Mercier on September 30, 2011, sisters, Maureen Pratt and A. Louise Ingram and a brother, Lowis Planck. Funeral services will be held 12PM Saturday, December 7, 2024 from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida with the Reverend Michael Usborne, officiating. Interment will be made in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10AM – 12PM, prior to the funeral service.
