Dakota Lane Patterson, 25, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 8, 2024, at his home.

Dakota was born on August 12, 1999, in Forsyth County to Junior Gene Patterson and Erica Duggins Douglas. He attended New Home Church of Christ and was employed by A.C. Corporation. Dakota enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting. He was also a long-time boy scout. Dakota loved his family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Lesper Duggins and Paul Douglas, Sr.; grandmother, Janet Duggins; great grandmothers, Mattie Mabe, Tilda Duggins, and Doris Ayers.

Dakota is survived by his mother, Erica Duggins Douglas (Chris); father, Junior Patterson (Kelly Mitchell); two sisters, Kayla Patterson (fiancé, Jon Damiani) and Charlee Douglas; two brothers, Evan Patterson (Hannah) and Riley Douglas; grandmothers, Shirley Patterson and Tammy Douglas; grandfather, Steve Trivette; nephew, Waylon Patterson; girlfriend, Amber White; special friends, Gabe Tedder and Hope Sharpe; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a 3 p.m. celebration of life service held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Burroughs Chapel with Pastor Tim Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 2 to 3 p.m., at Burroughs Funeral Home.
