Barbara Jordan Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jones Jordan, 86, was born November 15, 1938, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late David Wright and Alma Jones. She departed this life peacefully on December 16, 2024, at K.B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. She attended Anderson High School and Forsyth Technical Community College where she earned multiple degrees. Barbara chose a profession in early childhood where she worked as a teacher providing care, support, and love to children for many years until her retirement from the Youth Development Center on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. Her legacy will live on forever through her beloved and devoted children, four sons, Clarence Jones (Diane), Early Jones, Bernard Jones (Debbie Roebuck), and Andrew Jones (Angela) of Fayetteville, NC; one daughter, Angela Peoples (Julius); one brother, James "PeeWee "Allen; two sisters, Tracy Thomas and Vanette Thomas of Society Hill, South Carolina; twenty-five grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins and friends, especially, Ms. Bestie Jordan (sister and longtime friend).
A memorial service for Mrs. Jordan will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Shiloh Baptist Church. The family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service. (Clark S. Brown & Sons).
