Marie Raney Obituary

Marie (Onofrio) Raney 83 of East Haven passed away February 7, 2025 at CT Hospice. She was born May 25, 1941 in New Haven to Edward and Frances (Nunziante) Onofrio. Marie is survived by her five loving children; Laura Barcsansky (Rob) of North Haven, Nancy Gaetano (John) of Branford, Patty Raney (Alphonse Gambardella) of East Haven, Paula Murray (Scott) of North Haven and Raymond Raney of East Haven along with nine grandchildren she adored; Danny Fabrizio, Angelica Barcsansky, Jovanna Ardito (Jason), Trevor Levatino, Ashley Murray, Haley Murray, Addrianna Stankiewicz (Ian), Raymond Raney Jr. and Jordan Raney. She is also survived by her two great grandchildren; Nicolas Ardito and Enzo Ardito. Also one on the way in April, Riley Stankiewicz and numerous nieces/nephews. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Rose Albanese and a brother, Edward Onofrio. Marie was a loving mother, grandmother "Nonni", great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who always placed her family first. Spending time with her family was very important to her; Marie hosted many functions at the house for the kids, everything from playing card games to sleepovers. Marie was blessed later in life with grandchildren, which gave her the opportunity to help raise them along with their parents. If not with her family, Marie liked to cook, color, play "wordfind", watch late night TV shows, especially the old cowboy western shows and listening to her favorite artist of all time, Elvis Presley. Marie was known as "Malena" to her family and "Rere" to the neighborhood kids who adored her. Family will receive friends on Monday February 10, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
