Kathryn Powell Obituary

Kathryn "Kathy" Tully Powell, 77, of Meriden passed peacefully on February 1, 2025 at Midstate Medical Center with family at her side. Kathy was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, her late husband Paul W. Powell. Born February 13, 1947 in New Haven to the late Charles E. Tully, Sr. and Catherine Elliott Tully. Sister of Charles E. Tully Jr., Laurajean Vaughn, and the late John A. Tully and William E. Tully. Kathy was a long-time resident of Wallingford. She took the most pride in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Kathryn "Katie" Powell of Wallingford, son Paul (Suzanne) Powell of Wallingford, son Jonathan (Reshann) Powell of Thomaston, Georgia, and her grandchildren, Alyssa, Krista, Jacob, John, Summer, Alliyah, and Jason, whom she adored dearly. Kathy had an infectious laugh and an impeccable sense of humor bringing light and love to everyone around her. She enjoyed the simpler things in life, her cardinals, making art with her grandchildren, snowmen and snowglobes, yellow roses, the family animals, and most importantly being in the company of those she loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in her honor to the Meriden Humane Society or the Connecticut Audubon Society to continue to spread her love of god's creations.
