Hugo Del Bianco Obituary

Waterbury, CT Hugo B. Del Bianco "Beloved father, grandfather & great grandfather" Hugo Bruno Del Bianco, 95, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie C. (Zampino) Del Bianco. Hugo was born in Forli, Italy on July 7, 1929, a son of the late Augustino and Augusta (Leonardini) Del Bianco. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked as a tool & die maker for Scovill Manufacturing, a short time at Sikorsky Aircraft and for over 30 years from Pratt & Whitney where he retired. He was a former member of The Warriors in the South End of Waterbury. He was an avid golfer and was a starter at East Mountain for many years. He also enjoyed playing and winning at setback with his daughter Laurie Ann and was known as the "card shark "by residents at the Lutheran Home. Hugo is survived by his daughters, Doreen Del Bianco and her husband, Steven Schrag of Plantsville, CT, Sharon Del Bianco of Waterbury, CT, Audrey Del Bianco of Ansonia, CT and Laurie Ann Marini and her husband, Luciano Marini of Watertown, CT. He also leaves three grandsons, Matthew and Michael Mancini and Aaron Schrag, one great granddaughter, Arianna Mancini and several nieces and one nephew. He was predeceased by his brother, Sam Del Bianco. The family would like to thank the staff at The Village at East Farms where he resided for 6 years and most recently the staff at The Lutheran Home of Southbury for the exceptional care provided by both the nursing and recreation staff. Arrangements: A calling hour for Hugo will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the wake at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Entombment will follow the Mass at Calvary Queen of Peace Mausoleum.
