Donna Toce Obituary

On March 24, 2025, Donna Marie Toce, formerly of Wethersfield, went home to God, her "Popa" whom she dearly loved. Loving the sun and water as she did, she retired from the YMCA where she worked as a bookkeeper. She moved to Florida after retirement only coming back to Connecticut in March 2024. She was very proud to have graduated from St. Agnes Home Nursing Program and her ability to retire early. Donna was a free spirit and was into 1970's disco. She loved puzzles, praying for all deceased family and friends and the beach with friends Joan and Shirley. To say she loved cats was an understatement and she was never without one or two. She had a very dry wit and in later years declared that she had "no more filters". She was preceded in death by her father Daniel A. Toce, mother Grace Adams Toce, brother Donald G. Toce and sister-in-law Barbara McCabe Toce. Left to mourn her and miss her is her sister Sister Maria Toce a Sister of St. Joseph, nephews Daniel, Mark, and Ted Toce and nieces Catherine Toce Harbough and husband Ray, Linda Toce, and Christina Toce Celentano and husband Greg. Donna will be remembered lovingly by Robin Toce who was a special friend and by grand nieces and nephews Holly, Valerie, Jamie, Jacob, Mark A., Mark T., Carmine, Michael, Donald and Christopher, as well as several great-grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Donna's life will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the convent of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 27 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, 1 Marsh Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109. There will be no calling hours. Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
