Leonard Hilbert Obituary

Leonard K. Hilbert, 91, formerly of Emmaus, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown. He and his late wife, Nancy Louise (Sherlin) Hilbert, shared 60 years of marriage together at the time of her passing on November 10, 2018. Born in Macungie, PA, he was the son of the late Kyron A. and Ruth N. (Gehman) Hilbert. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean War, and was stationed in Europe during most of his enlistment. While in the military, he was the kicker for his Army Battalion's Football Team. Leonard was a dedicated and active member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church in Emmaus where he was an Elder and had served on the Finance Committee for many years. He also coached the church's basketball and softball teams and had served as a Boys Brigade Leader. Leonard was a manager in the data processing department at the former Lehigh Structural Steel Company in Allentown. Following his retirement, Leonard worked part-time for Outten Chevrolet. He was an avid bowler for most of his life, die-hard Yankees supporter and dedicated sports radio listener. Survivors: Daughters, Janelle McMullen (Timothy), Donna Kauffman (Thomas), and Cheryl Wigfield (David); 10 Grandchildren; and 15 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 5 Siblings. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Street, Emmaus. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
