Bruce was such a pleasure and joyful guy so full of knowledge. I always enjoyed working on committees at church with Bruce and just simple conversations taking in his knowledge .. Bruce was an important family member, especially to my father, Bob Vakiener (first cousin). It was a joy to witness them talking and reminiscing. There are so many wonderful things to say about Bruce. To me, the most wonderful thing is that he brought Kate into our family.

Kate and The Vakiener family, my deepest heartfelt condolences. Bruce will always be the mentor of all mentors for which I am blessed to have known him and work closely in developing the US and Asian adhesive markets. I will always cherish the fond memories of visiting Bruce and Kate in Yokohama, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Mumbai and the times we shared. Your spirit will live on within our cherished memories. Truly a positive leader and professional to the highest degree in all his endeavors. May you rest in peace my friend.

When I reflect on Bruce, I think that he was a brother rather than a brother-in-law! He always raised me up and made me better. His twinkle in his eye always said he was happy and I see that twinkle now. Chris R.

I can´t begin to express my sadness over Bruce´s passing. Bruce was one of the good guys. I remember being in Japan with Bruce and Kate taking in the sights between Loctite business meetings. I got to know each of them pretty well and I remember thinking what a beautiful couple they made. Bruce brought out the best in people.

Bruce was as decent and competent of a human being as I met in all of my business career. Forthright, straightforward and insightful he was always trying to solve problems and address opportunities with a view to helping everyone who was willing to work toward a common objective - all with abundant energy and decency.

I worked with him most closely when I managed a Loctite / Henkel business in Thailand and later Henkel businesses in Elgin Il and Rocky Hill.

He was a good man who made those around him better by example of positive energy, humility, great judgment and an infectious work ethic. I´m grateful for my shared time working with him.

My condolences to his family and my thanks to them as well for their role in supporting Bruce through a great life that he shared with all of those who worked with him.

A great guy, he had a major contribution to Loctite´s Asian expansion. Greatly missed. RIP my friend.

My heart is so heavy today hearing that Bruce has passed. He was a wonderful caring man who was always there to help others. For me he was a great boss who for many years after Loctite would always call me on my birthday. I will miss him but know he has earned a place in heaven. Prayers and thoughts to Kate and his family

Bruce was my US-based manager for about 6 months during the Henkel transition at Loctite. He was excellent to work with and supportive when I had to make difficult decisions. He talked glowingly about his family and how important they were to him. My sincere condolences; Bruce was a smart and lovely human being. And knowing Bruce, I am not at all surprised that donations to a food bank are requested in lieu of flowers...
