Bridget CREPEAU Obituary

On Sunday, January 7, 2024 we said goodbye to Bridget Crepeau, age 74, at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in Saint Paul, MN. Bridget Rose McQuillan was born on March 26, 1949, in St. Paul, to Robert and Amy (Postier) McQuillan. She was the oldest of 8. Bridget grew up on Marshall Avenue in St. Paul, where she attended and graduated from St. Joseph Academy High School. Bridget worked at Ramaley Printing after high school where she met Robert Arthur Crepeau, Jr. and then married in 1971. They settled on the Mississippi River bluff in Cottage Grove where they raised 3 children: Alixandra, Adam and Adrianne. Later in life, Bridget reconnected with her first born, Michelle Bohls, and instantly connected with the family. Bridget worked at Ramaley off and on while raising the children, eventually becoming Fulfillment Manager; then worked as a realtor for 20 years at Edina Realty, until the final months of her life. She was a caring and affectionate mother whose care extended beyond her own children. She was active in her childrens' schools and ran an international exchange program for 5 years where the Crepeaus hosted over a dozen children and chaperones from Guayaquil, Ecuador. Bridget loved to garden and read. She was known to read a book cover to cover in one sitting. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, making a day outing to shop and enjoy the company of others, often including her daughters and sisters. Bridget was an exceptionally positive person, who always found joy in any situation. Her positivity was admired by many, and was expressed with her wonderful, youthful smile and laughter. In her 10 year battle with cancer, she never once expressed her cancer as terminal, always addressing it with a smile as another thing to manage. Bridget is survived by husband Robert; children Michelle (Stephen) Bohls of Costa Rica, Alixandra (Eric) Poppelman of Lake Elmo, Adam (Lauren) Crepeau of Mendota Heights, Adrianne (Bryan) Kohl of Lakeville; grandchildren Magnus Bohls; Emmett, Miles, Graydon, and Scarlett Poppelman; Ava, Henry, Frederick and David Crepeau; Penelope, Hazel and Brixton Kohl; her siblings Margaret (Kurt) Schwichtenberg, Brian (Cheryl) McQuillan, Robert McQuillan, Colin (Peggy) McQuillan, Sarah (Manuel) Gutierrez. Bridget was especially fond of her sisters' children: Christine (Richard) Grygar, Yesenia (Bryan) Anderson and Carlos (Amanda) Gutierrez, making a large and close extended family. She is greatly missed and survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bridget was preceded in death by her second born infant son Matthew, her parents, brothers Kevin and Edward, sister-in-law Pauline, and nephew Robert. Celebration of Life will be held at Mancini's Char House in Saint Paul, February 25, 2024 from noon to 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Peace Hospice (OLP) in St. Paul. OLP provided the greatest gift of dignity and care for mom and a beautiful space for our family to be with her in her last week. Link for Memorials: https://ourladyofpeacemn.org/memorial-gifts/

I always remember Bridget when I read a John Sandford novel...particularly when it is about Virgil Flowers. It is hard to imagine the Crepeau clan without their loving matriarch.
Alix, she was always so proud of you. I am sending good thoughts out to to you. Wishing you peace during these difficult times.
Love, Michelle
