William Nelson Obituary

NELSON - Mr. William Kirkland "Kirk" Nelson, 74, of Waycross, Ga., passed away peacefully, Dec. 27, 2024, at Hospice of The Golden Isles after an extended hospital stay.
He was a native of Camden County and was a 1968 graduate of Camden County High School. After graduating, Kirk moved to Atlanta and was employed as a communications specialist with Bell South for 17 years. He then returned to Camden County, where he worked at White Oak Plantation and had a construction/electrical business until retirement. He was a former member of the Kingsland United Methodist Church. Kirk loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very talented and loved creating unique gifts. He will be remembered best as someone who could always bring a smile to your face.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Tommy J. Nelson; father, Roy C. Nelson; son, Jason Nelson and his wife, Terry; and brothers, Tommy A. Nelson and Joe Nelson.
He is survived by this wife of 46 years, Ronna Nelson of Waycross; brothers, Danny Nelson and his wife, Connie, of Boone, N.C., and Bernard Nelson and his wife, Kris, of Vidalia, Ga.; sister, Dale Nelson Joiner and her husband, Charles, of Waverly, Ga.,; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga.
