Calvin Hamilton Obituary

HAMILTON - Calvin Leroy Hamilton, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends Dec. 31, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital in Fayetteville, Ga.
Calvin was born Aug. 22, 1947, to the late Leroy and Pauline Hamilton of Woodbine, Ga. He was educated in the public schools of Camden County, Ga., and graduated from Ralph J. Bunche High School, class of 1965.
"Cab," as he was affectionately known, played for the Ralph J. Bunche football team and was a member of the concert band and school Glee Club. At a young age, he was baptized at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church.
After graduating from high school, Calvin attended Savannah State College and was later drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in the 101st Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" in Vietnam. After his military service, Calvin was employed by Pan Am Airlines in Jacksonville, Fla., Miami, Fla., and Houston, Texas. His final employment was with Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Ga., where he retired. Calvin loved traveling and enjoyed all sports, as well as good cooking. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Calvin was preceded in death by both parents and twin daughters.
Left to cherish and treasure his memories are his daughter, Brittany Hamilton; son, Terrance (Marlly) Hamilton; brother, Richard (Hester) Hamilton; special friend and love of his life, Alfreda; grandchildren, Lenelly, Ashton and Izayah; and nephew, Jerah Milligan.
Calvin was loved by many and will be missed greatly by a host of other family members and dear friends.
Final funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
