Cole Kinek Obituary

Cole Christopher Kinek, lovingly called "CC" or "Two C's" by his father, of New Kensington, was just 16 years old when he passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Born on Feb. 15, 2008, in Pittsburgh, PA. Cole was a brilliant and creative soul who approached life with curiosity and passion. He loved fixing and building computers, biking, skateboarding, walking his dogs, exploring the outdoors, and expressing himself through art and cooking. He was always eager to try new recipes and visit new places. Cole cared deeply about social justice and minority rights, carrying a sense of empathy and awareness far beyond his years. A natural learner, Cole possessed an extraordinary intellect. He could memorize entire songs, recite intricate facts, and understand complex concepts that often astonished even professionals in their fields. Despite his immense intelligence, traditional schooling was never a place where he felt he belonged. From a young age, Cole sought his own path, finding success and fulfillment on his terms through the Commonwealth Charter Academy. Cole had a unique way of seeing the world, one that often defied conventional understanding. Even those closest to him marveled at his distinct perspective on life. Although he sometimes struggled to see how his remarkable traits made him special, Cole lived authentically, guided by a deep sense of fairness, justice, and meaning. Cole cherished spending time with his Baba and Pappy, Paula and Philip Scott, and was deeply loved by his family and friends. He is survived by his parents, Nicholas P. Kinek and Kimberly Kinek; his brother, Nicholas (Nico) J. Kinek; and his grandparents, David Lindsey, Rozalind Lindsey, Dominic Cosnotti, Claudia Cosnotti, Ruth Surrey, and Philip Scott. He was preceded in death by Paula Scott, Ronald J. Kinek, and June Kinek. Cole's memory will also live on through his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. A memorial service will be held this spring in Colver, PA, as the season begins to bloomsymbolic of Cole's vibrant spirit and the enduring impact he has left on the lives of those who knew him. Arrangements have been entrusted to RJ SLATER IV FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, New Kensington, 1000 Freeport Road, New Kensington, 724-335-0100.

To the entire Kinek family, I send my deepest sympathies to you all at the passing of Cole. He was so young! My heart is broken with yours at the passing of any young person. While I didn´t know Cole personally, he sounds like a wonderful intelligent and caring young man! The world needs more men like him! I pray that The good Lord Jesus will comfort and help you through this very difficult time!
