Marlene Elizabeth Polk (Davis) (Barnes) was born May 27, 1936, in Richmond, VA of Louvinia and Louis Barnes. Marlene married James Polk and previously John Davis Sr. She was a member of True Love Baptist Church in Fairfield, CA. She served as President of the Deaconess, a member of the choir, and head chair of the food pantry. Marlene also worked at the NCO club at Travis Air Force base. She leaves behind 2 sisters, Bertha Carter and Paulette Musgray, 2 children Vallarie Franklin, John Davis Jr, 4 grandchildren Robbie Franklin, Jonathan Franklin, Ariana Steward, and Indigo Polk, in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews. Marlene passed peacefully on November 15, 2024. Private family services at a later date. Cathy M. Williams & Sons Funeral Home in Alton.
