Phyllis Brown Obituary

Phyllis A. Brown, 89, of Wyoming passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at the Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, Ill. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Dawson Funeral Services in Wyoming. A visitation will be held prior to her service from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Wyoming Cemetery. Phyllis Ann was born on Jan. 22, 1934 in Anamosa, Iowa, to Ben and Helen (First) Bahnsen. She graduated from Wyoming High School in 1951. On April 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Clarence Brown at the Wyoming Methodist Church. Phyllis is the oldest member of the Wyoming Methodist Church and also a lifelong member of the Wyoming Ladies Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed working on genealogy projects or learning about the history of Wyoming. She loved her TV shows including anything John Wayne, Gunsmoke, As the World Turns and Dancing with the Stars. Phyllis' greatest blessing in her life were her family she cherished every memory with them. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Ron (Pam) Brown of Rock Island, Ill., Carol (Arnold) St. John of DeWitt, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Eugene Bahnsen of Cedar Rapids.
