This sweet lady had a smile to light up a room! She was the best Warden I had ever worked for.she was admired and loved by all!!! I am so thankful God had our paths cross! (Warden) Stephens had her hands full with me. From walking up the stairs yelling what day is it, it is HUMP Day, to our conversations about me, “Little Lungs” to my favorite, the “Traveling Warden”! I will never forget her sweet laugh! Now, Traveling Warden, you are walking those hallways in Heaven, “Little Lungs” sure misses and loves ya! I will see you later!

Warden Stephens was a great person to work under. She was extremely supportive and motivational. I have the utmost respect for her and I’m saddened to hear of her passing. I can still picture her dancing in the background of my programs and work gatherings. She was always the first to jump in to get the party started.

I worked with Dee at Alderson in the 90s and in DC years later. We laughed about so many things and always had a great time. I will always remember my friend, her warm smile and the fun times we shared. ❤

I’m going to miss you cousin. I really loved your kind heart and how you always wanted family to stick together. Even though we didn’t hang much because you were distance away with work when we linked up it was always a nice vibe. I’m heartbroken you couldn’t wait until I came to see you this month like we discussed, but either way I’m still coming. I love you and thank you for always being you. My condolences to the entire family. You will be missed. Absent from the body, but present with the lord. No more pain. We will meet again. love Ebony W.

May Peace from our Abba Daddy be with her family and friends and co-workers near and far. Warden Stephens and I had one big thing in common and that was the SF 9rs. She had a different leadership mostly hard core, but soft at times, most time we all would thank her in the end, LOL! She took care of business and rewarded staff with fun things. One thing I’m so glad she did and that was getting a memorial monument made for the 30th anniversary celebration. The second thing was through the years my dream and passion was to be a warden secretary, God always knows the right and best timing, she finally hired me one month prior to her retirement. Much love to her family, friends and co workers. May she rest in peace.

Words fail to express my deep sorrow to the Stephens family, Darlene and friends of "Lo". She truly was one of the nicest people who loved her family. To her brother Bobby - there was always a glow in her eyes when she spoke of you and your children. I'm praying for strength and comfort through this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the family!! Warden Stephen’s was a one of the kind individual. She had her idiosyncrasies, she had style and was wonderfully gifted in elegance decorating her surrounding. She couldn’t be imitated nor duplicated She was straight forward from her heart. You either rolled with her or get rolled over; yet it was all done gracefully and with smooth sophistication. Warden Stephen’s, dance the night away!

Not often in life do we fall under the leadership of great people who truly know how to inspire, support, and lead. Warden Stephens was that leader. She came to FCI Memphis and left her mark. She had a positive impact on staff and the institution as a whole. I am so thankful that I got a chance to fall under her leadership, which fostered a lifelong friendship! Thank you Warden Stephens for showing us what real leadership and out of the box thinking looks like. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends!

The ones left behind with love in our hearts and the fondest of memories of treasured times with you and Darlene is a testament and affirmation of a beautiful life well lived. Dee, even though it's been years (well over a decade) since we saw each other, it feels like just yesterday that I saw you, and I've always felt privileged to be considered a friend. Your memory and legacy will forever live on. Rest peacefully and in power, Dee.

My Aunt Lois was truly a remarkable individual, and I feel blessed to have had her consistent presence in my life. While her professional achievements should be commended, it was her love of family, generosity, and genuine expressions of love that I admired most. I am fortunate to have countless memories of my time with her, and I will cherish them forever. Although I am deeply saddened by her passing, I am comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain. I am proud to be her nephew and will miss her dearly.

We were in the SIS shop at the FCI II in Butner, OIG, SIA, SIS Techs discussing the next step in an operation that was about to happen over the weekend. I was standing behind warden Stephen's. She would occasionally turn around and say to me" Dennis, you stay in the car" I'd reply "YES ma'am" The third time she told me to stay in the car, I put my hand on her shoulder and said " I will stay in the car Warden Stephens....until they ask me to get out" Warden Stephen's shook her head and smiled at me. Warden Stephen's was for staff, not inmates. RIP Delores Stephens...
