Mary Stovall Obituary

Mary Jo Stovall September 30, 1971-September 6, 2023 Mary Jo Stovall, 51, of Mitchell passed away on September 6, 2023 while under hospital care in Aurora, Colorado. Mary was surrounded with family throughout her last weeks. Cremation was chosen and a memorial service for family and friends will be planned for a later date. Born to John and Donna (Vogel) Osienger, Mary Jo was the third oldest of six children. She loved her two sons, Joshua (Erin) Osienger of Lincoln, and Jeremiah (Maggie) Stovall; and grandchildren, Mia, Liam and Emiliano of Gering. Over the years, Mary fostered numerous children within the foster care system and dedicated her life to working to make a difference in the lives of youths and those in need across western Nebraska, working with Region One and McConaughy Discovery Center. She was always willing to help others if she could. In her free time, Mary enjoyed sitting down with a good book or crossword, preferably with the company of her dogs. While Mary enjoyed her coffee and tea, she enjoyed it much more whenever she could sit down for a cup with family or friends. Mary Jo will live on in the memories of her surviving sons and grandchildren; parents; sisters, Robin (Ed) Franco, Julie Michael, Amber (Levi) Umble; brother, Joel (Kristen) Vogel; and nieces and nephews. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her brother, John Joseph "J.J." Osienger III.
