Thomas BARTALAMAY Obituary

Thomas (Tom) Bartalamay passed away peacefully on March 17th, at the age of 75.

Tom was born March 20, 1946, to parents Emanuel and Martha Bartalamay in Odessa WA. After Graduating from Odessa H.S. (64) and Eastern Washington State College (EWU) (69), he settled in Spokane where he taught and coached middle school in the West Valley School District for over 35 years.

He loved to be at the river, boating, working on projects around the cabin, and hosting epic family reunions, always with matching t-shirts. He enjoyed playing softball with Abner Doubleday's, running Bloomsday, watching the Seahawks & Mariners, and cheering on his beloved WSU Cougars.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Anne Bartalamay Paschal (WA), and Christine (Neal) Goss (TX). Grandchildren, Jared Goss (TX), and Emmy & Finley Paschal (WA). His sisters, Margo (Dick) Sherer (OR) and Beth (Tom) Hepler (OR), and many nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen Bartalamay, son Christopher Bartalamay and his sweet companion dog "Titan".

Tom will be laid to rest beside his wife and son, at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery in Spokane after a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chaplaincy Hospice House (Kennewick, WA) https://chaplaincyhealthcare.org/donors/ways-to-give/.

Mr. Bartlamay was my grade school teacher. He truly made learning fun. He then was my sons coach, thirty some years later!! I´m truly sorry for your loss.

One of the best teachers/coaches ever! He was one the first teacher/coaches to directly influence my choices in sports! Mr B pulled me from baseball to track, still let me play on the soccer "club", to win JH districts in the 800M. The next year Otis, Coach Spring, and Coach Shepard had me choose between track and soccer .. that ended up OK! Let say now, It sort of started with Mr B giving me a green light. I will always tell the story of how he told me in math class one day... "Whatever you´re doing, keep doing it"! I mean I just came in from "The Gut Truck" with a giant doughnut! He would be happy I´m still doing it! #ForeverRemembered Thanks Coach B!

Good memories of Mr. Bartalamay as a student and an athlete. He coached my brothers and then my son as well. I think they won the 8th grade football league championship that year. I remember his big smile and great personality, but most of all he always seemed that he really enjoyed doing what he did. He was truly one of the good guys. God Speed Mr. Bartalamay.
