Joseph Stanley Mosher, 83, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 9, 1943, in Leonardtown, MD. He was the son of the late Stanley E. Mosher and Mary M. (Pilkerton) Mosher.
While he was raised in Hollywood, MD, he spent most of his life in Waldorf, MD. He attended Ryken High School and worked in General Contracting until he owned and operated Mosher Mechanical Contractors for the majority of his careeer until he retired in 2010.
In the early 1970's, he became an active member of the Southern Maryland Boat Club (SMBC) and spent many years racing power boats throughout the East Coast. During this time, he received a multitude of victories earning him notable recognition in the boat racing community while building lifetime friendships. Other hobbies include car racing, collecting antique toys, car shows, dining out and being with family and friends.
He was a member of Calvary Chapel of Waldorf, where he shared Christ's love with others. He loved playing with his grandchildren and attending their ball games, dance recitals, school events and activities.
Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Pamela A. Mosher. He is survived by his sisters, Joan Thompson (Wayne), and Audrey Mosher. He is also survived by his daughters Debbie Poynor (Buddy), Joanne Turner and Kimberley Mosher (Brad Haney, Sr.); grandchildren Matthew Poynor, Shelby Turner, Wesley Poynor, Zachary Turner, Stephanie Smith, Bradley Haney Jr. and Tony Haney; 14 great-grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, close friend Robin Trotter, long-time friend and neighbor, Paul Corn.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Potomac Heights Baptist Church, 37 Glymont Rd, Indian Head, MD. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM with a service immediately following. The burial will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
The pallbearers will be his grandsons, Matthew Poynor, Wesley Poynor, Zachary Turner, and his sons-in-law Buddy Poynor, Bradley Haney Sr., and close relative, Robert Mattingly. His son-in-law, Buddy Poynor will officiate.
