Edward Suozzo Obituary
Beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Edward "Eddie" J. Suozzo, passed away on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Edward is predeceased by his father, Frank Suozzo, and two brothers: James and Frank. He is survived by mother Cecilia, daughters Megan and Erin, and sister Elizabeth. He was formerly married to Linda Hoehn (nee Rittman) for 21 years. He was the proudest grandfather to James and Madeline, and uncle to 8 nephews and 1 niece.
Edward was born in Staten Island on February 28th,1961. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Rutgers University. He worked at Rosenberg, Levine, Kopp, and Truglio before becoming a Partner at Schuhalter, Coughlin and Suozzo. Eddie was a charismatic and ambitious young man who worked tirelessly to create the life he desired.
Edward was a brilliant man with a busy mind and big dreams. He had many interests, including NY sports fandom, the Staten Island music scene, church, and family. Despite a career as a CPA, music was the true love of his life. He was a passionate performer and aficionado of musical culture. In 2012, he was inducted into the NY Blues Hall of Fame. He shared this love with everyone he met, and passed it down to his children and grand children.
Funeral services will be held at Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, New York, 10306 on Friday, February 16th, 2024 from 4pm-8pm. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 61 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY 10306 on February 17th, 2024 at 9:30am.

As did my friend Ed, I also worked at Rosenberg, Freundlich. Levine, Kopp and Truglio. I was employed there from 1977 to 1979 and again from 1984 to 1986. In 1990, I became a personal tax client of Schuhalter, Coughlin, and Suozzo (SCS). Amy Coughlin prepared my personal taxes and Ed handled my NYS tax audit.
SCS was a class act and provided medical care to severely ill employees above and beyond what their standard medical plan called for, despite the great hardship that this imposed on a young company struggling to establish itself. SCS put employees ahead of profits, which is a virtue rarely seen in the business world. Ed exemplified this generosity of spirit. He will be greatly missed.

Our deepest condolences to Eddie's family. May he rest in peace. We were both friends with Eddie at different times and then later after we had children. Erin & Megan we are so sorry for your loss. May you keep his fun-spirited memories in your heart.

My heartfelt condolences to the Suozzo Family on the passing of Eddie. One thing that I would like to add to Eddie's accomplishments was that he was an Eagle Scout, the Boy Scouts of America highest distinguished award.
One small footnote, I had the distinct honor to introduce Eddie's for his Eagle Award presentation and do fondly recall how proud Eddie and his family were for this very special moment in time.
