Barney White Obituary

Barney Lane White, Sr., 66, slipped into eternal rest on September 29, 2023 at Rowan Regional Medical Center with his children and siblings by his side.

Born August 2, 1957 to Willie John White, Sr. and Bette Hoyle White, Barney was a loving father, grandfather, brother and a loyal friend. A lifelong member of the Westside community in China Grove, Barney's neighbors knew him to be caring and dependable. He was their constant help and protector.

Barney was a 1975 graduate of South Rowan High School and was last employed at the former National Textile Mill. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where he attended until his health no longer permitted.

Barney was preceded in death by his parents.

Barney Lane is survived by his daughters, LaTonya White and Staci White Kollock (Dwight) of Salisbury; son, Barney Jr. (Erica) of Mooresville; brothers Willie John Senn of Walkdorf, Maryland, Johnny White (Shirley) of China Grove, Thaddius White (Phyllis) of Columbia, S.C. and Charles Bill of Salisbury; sister, Tammy White of China Grove; and mother of his children, Angela Alexander of Salisbury.

The grandchildren who were the love of Barney's life and will forever love their “Papa Lane”, LaTavian, Xavion, Timothy (Tre), Justus, Tariq, Carmelo and Anylah; the Westside community along with other family and friends will feel the loss of Barney.

Arrangements: Services will be Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, China Grove, with Visitation at 2:00 PM and Funeral at 3:00 PM. Interment following services in the Church Cemetery #2. Reverend Dr. Keith Curry, Pastor, Officiating and Reverend Joe Hoyle, Eulogist.
