Donald Miller Obituary

Miller, Donald W. "Don"
7/17/1944 - 12/28/2023
Saginaw, Michigan
Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 79 years old. Donald William Miller was born on July 17, 1944 to the late Ben and Arlene (St. Charles) Miller. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School and then enlisted into the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Saginaw and he met the love of his life, Lorraine A. Bailey, and they were married August 6, 1966 at Broadway United Methodist Church, Saginaw. Don worked for Saginaw Malleable Iron as a Pattern Maker for 19 years, retiring in 1984. In his younger years, Don was proud to serve with the Saginaw County Sherriff as a Reserve Office. He loved to scuba dive, ride his motorcycle, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
His sense of humor and teasing will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his loving wife, Lorraine; sons: Donald W. Jr. (Diane) Miller, David A. (Melissa) Miller and Daniel D. (Patricia) Miller; grandchildren: Dustin, Sandy (Craig), Jennifer (Lance), Jason, Amanda (Alex), Andy, Jackson, Cameryn, Ashlee (Sam) and Kevin Miller; and many great grandchildren; brother, Michael (Jackie) Miller; sisters-in-law: Cathy Miller, Christine Ward and Karen Bailey; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sister-in-law: Benny, Ronald and Lon (Christine) Miller; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Merritt "DeVere" and Betty Bailey; brothers-in-law: John Bailey and Dean Ward.
FUNERAL: A funeral service for Don will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw, MI 48603.
