Lucy Agins Obituary

Garden Grove, CA - Lucy M. Agins, was born in Trenton, NJ to Edith M. (Matthews) & Elmer G. Agins. She graduated from Hamilton High School West in 1965 and worked for the State of New Jersey until moving to California in 1970. She passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 after a startling cancer diagnosis, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Frank and John, and a niece Jill (Agins) Csaszi. She is survived by two brothers and 3 sisters-in-law: James & Diane, Raymond, Kathleen & Barbara. Lucy is also survived by one uncle, Bert Matthews, 9 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews, 2 great-great nieces, many cousins, and a wonderful friend and caretaker, Courtney. In her last days, she reminded us daily that she was moving "Onward and Upward!" Lucy loved traveling and visited all 50 states by land and sea. She was a softball coach, a skilled photographer and was interested in the martial arts, calligraphy, astrology, collecting books, beloved post cards and greeting cards, and country music. Most of all, she loved Bugs Bunny and her Bugs Bunny collection is now spread throughout the country to family and friends. Before retirement, she worked for the Chief of Police in Seal Beach, a highlight of her professional career. Lucy maintained her own business, before and after retirement, working as an accountant and income tax preparer for many private businesses and people. At her request, services will be private.
