Alan Gibson Obituary

Scott Gibson, 63, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2021, at the Ray Hickey Hospice House surrounded by family members after a short courageous battle with cancer. Scott was born April 5, 1958, in Jamestown, New York. He grew up in Copley, Ohio and attended Copley High School class of 1976. He worked as a construction carpenter apprentice in the Copley area. He moved to California and worked as a machinist for McDonnell Douglas. In Vancouver Washington he was metal fabricator at Columbia Cascade and a CNC machinist at Roadmaster, Inc. Most recently, he assisted in the support of New Life Friends Church Lords Gym in Vancouver, WA. Scott loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and auto racing. He will always be loved and remembered for his infectious smile, great sense of humor, hard work, integrity, kindness and special caring for others even during his illness. Scott is survived by his parents, Keith and Carol Gibson of Lake Forest, California; a daughter, Ashly (Miguel) Moran of Lake Elsinore, California; sisters, Susan Soth of Schertz, Texas and Kelly (Drew) Krycerick of Lake Forest, California; brother, Mark Gibson of Vancouver, Washington; three grandchildren, Miguel Moran, Jr., Vincent Moran, Julian Moran and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Nichole Rae Gibson; infant brother, Keith Gibson, Jr., and his grandparents. Private family services will be held and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.

I remember Scott and his family. Scott and Mark were friends with my younger brother Rob. I was happy to read about his life, his many accomplishments and the family he loved and grew, a fine man, father and friend. RIP.
