CLAYTON MILLER Obituary

MILLER--Clayton Julius, Jr., was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, on April 2, 1942. He died in Scarsdale, NY on October 8, 2025. Clayton is survived by his partner Joanne of many years. He is survived by his brother, Army Lt. Colonel Walter G. Miller and his wife, Juanita and his family. Clayton received a degree from Florida A & M in Secondary Education Music with a specialty in choral performance and conducting. In addition to winning several choral competitions for his students at Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle, he taught and lectured on Dalcroze Eurythmics at the famed Julliard School of New York City. He not only taught this system in several states throughout the United States, but he also taught it in Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand. Music was not the only passion of this master trumpeter. He also excelled in tennis and chess. This talented man was beloved by all. A visitation will be held on Monday October 13, 2025, from 3-7pm at the Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Homes, 824 Scarsdale Ave., Scarsdale, NY 10583.

Clayton was an excellent New Rochelle teacher, music conductor, avid tennis ,chess player and US Army veteran. We mourn his passing , but celebrate his major contributions to his country, City of New Rochelle, Albert Leonard Middle school. May his memories be a blessing to all who knew him.

Rest in Peace Mr. Miller. I will never forget your kindness and the music lessons when i attended Albert Leonard and winning the superior award back in 1998 with the ALMS Chorale. Heaven gained one hell of an angel
