Oh lord my God Brother chapman was a gift from God.He was the founder of New Sarpy Community Choir. What Love & decidication he had for the youth rehearsals in their kitchen or backyard. Our children had an experience with the Lord by lifting holy hands singing from one end of the Parish to the other. Every church the Emerson played for the sang at. There would be cars of children excited to sing for the Lord. Tonette, Jamaal, Jarvin, Jalessa your husband &father cannot be duplicated. Emerson was sent by God he love and embraced his gift not be selfish but nurturing all who wanted to be a part of.The children never complain but was always excited Uncle Emerson said, we're going to sing at Southern University mama are we going of course. THE TRIO is in Heaven Mancy, Boo boo & Emerson . Jesus Is Real.Heaven is rejoicing Rest well my brother Rest Well

As a former choir member of the Jr choir at Mt.Zion in Gretna, and a student of music, I had the privilege of learning from you in so many ways. You played a key part in helping me develop as a worker for the Lord, and you did it with that unwavering smile. Take your rest, Emerson. Your work here is complete.

My Condolences. As a former Chior member at Mt.Zion missionary Baptist church I´m so sad to hear this news. I grew up in the jr Chior and later joined the sr. Chior . Mr. Chapman played a major part of my youth. Things I didn´t learn elsewhere I learned under his direction. This is where I learned the most valuable life lessons. He was a great man and a blessing to this earth. He will always be in my heart. God bless.
