Ruby Drake Obituary

Ruby Lee Crews Drake, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 in Titusville, Florida, surrounded by family.
Ruby was born on April 21, 1935 in St. George, Georgia. She lived her life in Callahan, Florida and Douglas, Georgia.
Ruby graciously and lovingly served the Lord beside her husband as he pastored the Axson Evangelistic Church for 14 years. They both had a never-ending love for Gaskin Springs Holiness Campground, where they devoted more than 50 years in service to the Lord. Ruby was a loving and giving wife and mother who consistently put her family and others before herself. She will forever be remembered and cherished for the unconditional love and care she gave to her family and the many others she loved. Ruby was a constant blessing to each of us.
Ruby is survived by four children, Sylvia Diane Thompson (Michael) of Cocoa, Florida, Sandra Elaine Brantley of Douglas, Georgia, James Delone Drake (Glena) of Hampton, Georgia and Deborah Ann Walker (David) of Douglas, Georgia; six grandchildren, Lorie Michelle Gast, Linda Rene' Powers (Trey), Diane Alison Kleinknecht (Greg), William Albert Kleinknecht (Natia), John Brandon Jordon (Amber) and Caleb Wesley Drake; 20 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and many beloved and cherished relatives and friends. We all loved her dearly and her memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Ruby was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 69 years, the Rev. James Robert Drake; her beloved parents, Caleb Delone Crews and Velma Jane Smith Crews; and three precious grandchildren, Marcus Leland Lucas, Melinda Faye Lucas and Maddison Lee Lucas.
The tribute above was prepared by Ruby's loving family. A celebration of Ruby's life will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home with the Rev. Burton Jordon officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, 37345 Ruby Drive, Hilliard, FL, where Ruby will be laid to rest beside her husband, James. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
