Vina Louise Abrams
May 14, 1942 – January 24, 2025
Vina Louise Abrams, age 82 of Monroe, went home to be with the Lord at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 14, 1942, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, she is the daughter of the late Wesley and Viola (Overton) Maiden. After moving to Monroe, she met her beloved husband, Basil Abrams, later marrying him in 1958. Sadly, he preceded her in death on February 8, 2007. Vina worked as a Nurse Aide in hospice, caring for many patients in and around the Monroe area, retiring in 2017.
Vina received her spiritual nourishment at Faith Chapel Church of God in Temperance. She enjoyed traveling "up north" and "down south". She especially loved spending time with her family.
To cherish her memory, Vina leaves two children: Clyde Abrams of Monroe and Jennifer (Terry) Crawford of Willis, Michigan; one sister, Jean Marlow of Ida; three brothers: Troy (Anna) Maiden of Monroe, Donald Maiden of Frakes, Kentucky, and Roger (Conie) Maiden of Monroe; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Vina was preceded in death by two children, Scott and Ruth, and two half-brothers, Albert and Alford Sulfridge.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place and no services are currently scheduled.
Memorial contributions in Vina's memory are suggested to Heartland Hospice of Monroe.
