Thomas Gavin Obituary

Thomas J. "Tommy Joe" Gavin, age 79, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at his residence in Peoria, IL.
Tommy Joe was born on February 17, 1945, in Peoria, a son of Thomas J. and Velda (Wagner) Gavin. He married Linda Kay Cotten on July 17, 1965, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2015.
Tommy Joe worked as a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc for over 40 years. He went on to work at Home Depot in the Plumbing Department for 17 years. Family was the greatest joy in Tommy's life. His favorite pastime was spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He could often be found doing projects around the house. Tommy and Linda loved to spend time travelling.
Tommy Joe is survived by two daughters, Tonya (John) Kluever of Peoria and Tiffany (James) Jordan of West Peoria and one son Todd (Loretta) Gavin of Peoria and five grandchildren Jonathan, Joseph, Aimee, Thomas and Justin, as well as four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, grandson, Joshua, two brothers, Tim and Kenneth Gavin and one sister, Teckla Gavin.
Private family services and burial at Lutheran Cemetery will be at a later date.
