Stephen Karch Obituary

Stephen M. Karch, 82, of Maple Grove, died unexpectedly on March 27. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte and Milton Karch. He's survived by his sister Rita Ann (Mike) Kahn and brother Mick (Carole) Karch; his three daughters: Jules (Randy), Deb (Mike), and Melissa (Erik); and 9 grandchildren (Ethan, Abby, Gracie, Mira, Luke, Olivia, Hendrik, Cecilia, and Emmett); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steve was born and raised in Minneapolis and graduated from North High. He and first wife, Sandy, moved to California before returning to the New Hope area to raise their girls. Steve worked in sales for collection agencies for years, forming lifelong friendships with many clients. No dad/grandparent/brother/friend was more beloved. He was the most devoted dad and zada, and would do anything for his family. Spending time with his family and friends playing cribbage/cards or watching sports was his favorite activity. He also loved cheering on his grandkids, and he went to every activity he could. With his gregarious personality and great sense of humor, he connected with everyone he met instantly. A lover of rock music, mafia movies, fantasy football, books, breakfast sandwiches, golf, and giving nicknames, his bigger-than-life personality will leave a gaping hole in our lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral service 12:00 noon, WEDNESDAY, March 30, 2022, HODROFF-EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 126 E. Franklin Ave., Minneapolis.
