It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we mourn the passing of Scott J. Allen of Pitman, who left us on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the age of 55, after a brief stay at Inspira Hospital in Mullica Hill, NJ. He was a beloved father, son, boyfriend, and friend.
Scott was born on May 17, 1969, and grew up in Barnsboro, NJ, where he spent his formative years. After graduating from Clearview Regional High School, he completed a four-year apprenticeship with Local 401 Ironworkers. He later became an ironworker for Local Union 401 in Philadelphia and was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. His profession allowed him to work in several states, serving various communities.
Scott was a devoted father and son who cherished spending time with his family and friends. He was always ready to offer guidance, support, and encouragement. Known for his generosity, he would take the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. Additionally, he was charismatic and extroverted, possessing a larger-than-life personality.
In his free time, Scott enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, building his race car, and watching sports, particularly football. He spent much of his time enjoying the great outdoors and all it has to offer. His passion for cooking and discovering new recipes to share with his family was evident. Scott cherished creating new memories and valued the time spent with his loved ones.
Scott is survived by his parents, George Sr. and Darlene Allen; his children, Jacob Scott Allen and Austin Scott Allen; his brothers, George Allen Jr. and Wayne Allen; and his beloved companion of eight years, Ana Cardona. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Allen. He will be deeply missed, and all who knew him will cherish his memory.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Visitation on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. The final disposition will be private.
