Richard "Dick" Eugene Adams, Sr. was born in Okmulgee, OK in 1949 and joined his Lord on July 25, 2025 in Edmond, OK. He grew up in various towns in Texas and Oklahoma where his father, Clyde "Dick" Adams, was a buyer for the C R Anthony company and his mother, Betty Louise Adams, was a devoted housewife and community volunteer and advocate. They remained in Edmond, OK where Dick graduated from high school. In 1970, he married his devoted wife of 44 years, Janine (Lawson) Adams, who preceded him in death in 2015. He followed in his father's footsteps and worked his way up in C R Anthony's to become a manager. After many years in the retail industry, he obtained a degree in Accounting from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK.

The Adams family moved to Elmira, NY and then Charlotte, MI. where he worked in the accounting field. Upon the expectation of his first grand child in 1995, he moved back to Edmond, OK. He eventually retired from his accounting work in 2017.

In 2019, he met a wonderful woman, Jennifer "Jenny" (Hunt) Adams, whom he married in 2021. After her retirement, they had planned to travel in their RV with their 3 rescue pups but God had other plans.

Dick was very active in various volunteer positions, his church and Bible Study Fellowship. He volunteered for AARP to help senior citizens with their taxes. He also volunteered in various men's Christian based recovery groups, helping numerous young men. He was an active member of a devoted men's group, Spit and Whittle, that met every Tuesday for breakfast for over 25 years.

Dick was a loving father to his four children, Janice (Adams) Ford, Richard "Rick" Adams, Jr., Byron Adams (Sidney) and Katherine "Katie" Adams. He and his sons were always on the soccer field where he was either coaching or refereeing.

He was very active as a leader for several decades in BSF. Through those years, he always had several grandchildren that he took with him to BSF. Dick was an adoring "Papa" to 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dick will be greatly missed by family and many friends across the United States who are grateful for all the wonderful memories made.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation. Services will be held at Waterloo Baptist Church on August 9 at 2:00pm.
