Mary Flowers Obituary

Graveside services for Mary Katherine Flowers, 83, of Stratford are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Heath Sapp will officiate.

Mrs. Flowers passed away peacefully Sunday, February 8, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 17, 1943 at Ada, OK to J C James and Mary Nadine McKinney James. She married Johnny Dewayne Flowers, Sr. February 28, 1964. He preceded her in death May 13, 2025. They were married for 63 years, through good times, hard times, and the occasional stubborn standoff. Mrs. Flowers was a homemaker.

She was an OU football fan, never missing a chance to cheer on the Sooners. She had a knack for finding joy in Coke Icees, Whip Dip Pepper Burgers, and trying her luck at the casino.

She delighted in caring for her garden and chickens but nothing compared to the happiness she found in her grandkids and great-grandkids. She treasured her quiet moments alone during Johnny's legendary fishing trips which gave her time to watch her reality TV love shows.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Flowers, Jr. and his fiancé, Amanda Rhoads of Stratford; three daughters, Angie Masters and husband Bert of Stratford, Christy Flowers and husband Gary of Coalgate and Holly Darcy and husband Brandon of Ada; five grandchildren, Katie Johnson, Jessica Brooks, Paul Johnson, Jackie Stockton and Ryan Stockton; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her grandson, Cody Johnson; and one sister, Norma Savage.

Bearers will be Paul Johnson, Ryan Stockton, Johnny Flowers, Jr. Brandon Darcy, Gary Flowers and Bert Masters. Honorary bearers will be her great-grandsons.
