Marlene Schmidt, age 85, of Bonduel, passed away on May 31, 2024. Marlene was born in Hayes, Town of How on July 2, 1938, daughter of the late Harry and Louise (Burandt) Giese. Marlene grew up in Gillett, Wisconsin and graduated from Gillett High School. She worked at Northern Shoe in Pulaski for 21 years. On May 11, 1968, Marlene was united in marriage to Reynold O. Schmidt in Gillett. The couple moved to Bonduel where Marlene worked at St. Paul School for 10 years. In her free time Marlene enjoyed traveling, photography, visiting with friends and relatives, and babysitting. She was an avid Packer fan, never missing a game at Lambeau Field in her younger years and was very proud to have been a proud survivor of the famous Ice Bowl. Marlene loved and collected angels and was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel where she served on the Altar Guild and the Ladies Aid.
Marlene is survived by: her husband, Reynold; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dale and Karen Schmidt, Merce Schmidt, and Al Jacobs; nieces and nephews, Dina (Jeff) Nelson, Sherry (fiancé Mike Johnson) Boreson, Steve (Tina) Schmidt, Todd (Vicki) Schmidt, Tim (Jen) Schmidt, Melissa (Tyler) Zimmerman, and Kristin (Randy) Kohlstedt. She is further survived by other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents Harry and Louise; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alvin and Gladys Schmidt; brothers, Marvin and Leonard Giese; brothers-in-law, Donald and Victor Schmidt; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Jacobs and Marjoryann Giese.
A funeral service for Marlene will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30am until the time of the service.
Marlene's family would like to extend a special thank you to Country Villa in Little Chute for their wonderful care and concern for Marlene over the last few years and to Jena for all that she did.
