Funeral services for Mrs. Lyndell Gettis Tatum will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at White Plains Holiness Assembly Church with Rev. Mitchell Graham officiating. Interment will be in White Plains Holiness Assembly cemetery. Visitation will be 5 PM – 8 PM Monday, November 10, 2025, at White Plains Holiness Assembly Church. John E. Stephens Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lyndell Gettis Tatum, born July 12th in the Prospect Community of Newton County, passed from this earth peacefully at home with her loving family.

Gettis, called "Snookie" by friends and family was a talented artist, quilter, cook and avid gardener that kept a well-tended garden full of beautiful flowers.

She was a devoted wife to husband Marshal Tatum for 58 years. A wonderful mother to three living children, Dareatha Tate (Jerry), Joanna Tatum and Evan Tatum. She was a grandmother to four granddaughters, Dana Justice (Thomas), Destiny Foley (Cassidy), Deagan Tate and Sierra Maner (Tate) and great-grandmother to Elliot Foley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Sarah Graham, one daughter, Bessie Loraine Tatum, four brothers, Charles Graham, Kenneth Graham Sr. Welton Graham and Danny Graham Sr.

She leaves behind her remaining siblings, Dorothy Russell (Gerald), Delbert Graham Sr., Wayne Graham and Karen Monk. Three loving sisters-in-laws, Cherie Graham, Pam Graham and Diane Arthur along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Jerry Tate, Cass Foley, Remington Brown, Trace Brown, Thomas Justice, Kaden Graham.

Honorary pallbearers: Joe Choate, Elliot Foley, Austin Meeks, Chrles Knight, Evan Tatum, Denver Spalding.
