Lisa Alexander Kauffman, age 67, passed away peacefully at her home just south of Webster City on Friday, August 29, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Hall on Sat. Sept 6th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Lisa was the third child of five, born September 21, 1957 to George Alexander Jr. and Kathleen (Hood) Alexander of Webster City. She attended St. Thomas Aquinas school and Webster City public schools, graduating in 1975. Lisa followed in her grandfather, George Alexander, and her father, George Jr.’s footsteps by working her entire career in the banking business. She worked for Tapco Credit Union of Tacoma, WA for 14 years and Citizens Community CU of Fort Dodge for 30 years to the day.

It was in 2005 and with much encouragement from dear friends Paul and Deb Anderson that Lisa attended her 30th class reunion. While there she made a connection with fellow classmate, Jon Kauffman. Two years later they were married at the foot of the Grand Tetons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 18 years, Jon of Webster City; son, Jason Olthoff of Mason City, four children by marriage, Haley Wisecup of Ames, Emily Lesan of Urbandale, Marcy Gabehart (Cory) of Marion, and Ben Kauffman of Marion and eight grandchildren who loved her dearly. Also, four siblings with whom she shared the most loving enduring bond. Lynn Dykstra (Jim) of Denver, IA, Tom Alexander of Webster City, Laura Alexander of Des Moines, and Georgann Alexander Newcomb of Des Moines; four nephews, Peter Alexander of Leesburg VA, Cael and Joe Alexander of Webster City, TJ Newcomb of Des Moines, and one niece, Jamie Breitbach (Tommy) of Granger. Lisa is also survived by the most loving friend, Mary Beth (Hunter) Moore, sharing a lifelong friendship from toddlers to the very end.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, George Jr. and Kathleen Alexander, and nephew, Jay Dykstra

It was the early 1960s when her grandfather, George Alexander and father, George Jr. began development of the Alexander housing addition at the southern end of Webster City. With remarkable foresight they chose to name several of the streets after the Alexander children. Lisa’s street being named “Lisa Drive”. It is our hope that on occasion you will remember Lisa as you pass this street. A woman of strength who exemplified …. Beauty, Grace, and Honesty
