Kulpmont – Linda Kay (Michak) Ahrensfield, 69, passed away on April 9, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville
She was born in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina on May 19, 1955, the daughter of the late Samuel David Michak Jr. and Ann Michak. She later resided in West Wyoming, PA, followed by the Mount Carmel area where she resided the rest of her life.
Linda was a graduate of Dallas High School, class of 1973. She graduated from Shippensburg University with a bachelor's degree in 1978 and later worked for the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit doing social work.
On August 25, 1978, she married Joseph E. Ahrensfield at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Linda was a member of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved her two Cocker Spaniels, Cody and Brock. Linda always donated to charity organizations. She marched in the James Carter inaugural parade as part of the Shippensburg University Drill Team. She was a proud cheer mom for her daughter Katie and never missed a competition or game.
Linda is survived by her husband, Joseph; her daughter, Katie Ahrensfield; three sisters, Patti and husband Alan Harvilla, Donna and husband Fred Pierantoni, and Maureen and husband Bob Bilbow; her brother, Joseph (Jay) McLarney; a brother-in-law, Henry Ahrensfield; a sister-in-law, Trish and husband Brian Wagner; and a brother-in-law, Mike Ahrensfield and wife Tammy. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Along with her parents, Samuel David Michak Jr. and Ann Michak, Linda was preceded in death by a father-in-law, Harry Ahrensfield; a mother-in-law, Agnes T. (Ahrensfield) Bianchi; a step father-in-law, Anthony Bianchi; a sister-in-law, Donna J. (Ahrensfield) Kehler, her husband Harold "Red" Kehler, and their daughter Tonya Kehler; a sister-in-law, Nancy Stanton; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Ahrensfield.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, with Deacon Walter Kozlowski officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St, Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
