John Boyd (Johnie) Adams left this world surrounded by family on August 30, 2025.
Johnie was born July 7, 1934 to John Calvin and Anna Elizabeth Adams. Johnie enlisted in the Army where he served in Germany during the reconstruction as a Crane and Shovel Operator in the late 1950’s. While talking about his military service, he never failed to say that he found GOD was in Germany too. After his service, he married the love of his life, Ruby June Williams and was blessed with four children. Johnie was a faithful Christian who loved serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a soft-spoken, devoted husband and loving daddy and grandpa. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and wood-working.
Johnie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Ruby June; sons, Allen Clyde and John Mitchell (Mickey); parents, John Calvin and Anna Elizabeth; great- grandson, Wyatt Andrew; great- granddaughter, Kendra Alizabeth; and manyadored siblings.
Johnie is survived by daughters Ronita (Nathan) Beasley and Becky (Dana) Hawn and Lisa Adams Kimbro; grandchildren, Jessica (Ashley) Stedam, Rebecca Medovich, Nick (Carrie) Beasley, Rachel Dalton, Jonnie (Katlyn) Beasley, Mark (Sabrina) Rice, John Nelson Adams, and Jennifer Adams; great-grandchildren, Trevor Hembree, Eli Bryge, Alexis Medovich, Austin Beasley, Isabella Rice, Lettie Stedam, and Hannah Patterson; sister Faye Howard; and brother Ronnie Kennedy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 2-4 pm Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 4pm with Bro. Nathan Beasley and Bro. Doug Morgan officiating. Internment with Military Honors will follow in the Adams Hill Cemetery, Deer Lodge, TN.
