John Wesley Williams III, age 57, of North Carolina, passed away on July 12, 2025. John was always surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 23, 1967, in New Jersey, John brought warmth, laughter, and boundless generosity into the lives of all who knew him.

John is survived by his loving children; John W. Williams, IV, Gabrielle Williams and Victoria L. Williams; his mother Joanne Williams and his siblings; Duane, James, Joseph, Joanne, Karen and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, John W. Williams, Jr., whose memory remained dear to him throughout his life.

John was best known for his steadfast determination. Described by those closest to him as "the most stubborn person ever," he carried this certainty into every aspect of his life. Yet his stubbornness was offset by a quick wit, a generous spirit, and a commitment to helping others. He had a gift for making people laugh. If you ever needed anyone to talk to, he was there and would talk to you for hours, even if you were a stranger to him.

His professional life reflected his passion for skilled craftsmanship. As a proud member and electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW 379), John's work left a lasting mark on his community. His pride in every project was evident as he enthusiastically shared stories and photos of his handiwork, eager to display a job well done. John's commitment to service didn't stop at his profession. For many years, he served as a volunteer fireman for the Shanghai Fire Department, answering the call to protect and support his neighbors without hesitation. His willingness to step forward in times of need was a testament to his good intentions and his conviction that giving back is one of life's highest callings. Among his many joys, John was an avid collector of coins-especially quarters-and always cherished the hunt for a new addition to his collection. He developed a legendary love for blue cheese, putting it on almost everything, much to the amusement of his family and friends. But more than anything, John cherished spending time with those he cared for most
