Heaven welcomes a great family man with unwavering faith and probity. For all of us, who had the pleasure to spend time with Jack and learn about his life are better for it and were given a blueprint to live an extraordinary life and what it takes to achieve. Jack was not only a great storyteller but was always genuinely interested in everyone else in the room. He is now gone from this world and we certainly grieve over that but we rejoice over our good fortune having had him with us for so long, for the extraordinary life he led and for his spirit, which will live on in his children and grandchildren for generations to come. My thoughts and prayers are with Velma, Shannon, Shane, Molly and Erin and their entire family.

Jack made everyone he came in contact with feel better. Always greeting you with a smile and a hug. Genuinely interested in whatever conversation took place . He was family to me and I loved him. I´m sorry I´ll never see his smiling face again, but happy knowing he´s in heaven.
All my best to Velma, Shannon, Shane , Molly and Erin

Jack was a beloved UVA fraternity brother, who will be sorely missed by all who have had the privilege to have known him. We have kept in touch almost every day via e-mails and I know that he's in a better place now after meeting Jesus. My sympathy to Velma and the rest of his family for their great loss. Gerry A. Velma, I share in your and your family's sorrow on Jack's passing. He was a great fraternity brother at UVA, and was the favorite pledge the year I was rush chairman. He and I have remained in contact, i.e. emails, in these recent past ten years, and he always acknowledged my lame jokes, sometimes even complimentary. I know he thought the world of you and his kids. This was so unexpected, so sudden, so sad. I will miss him. My prayers are with you.
