Jeff Rudy Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home on Mar. 20, 2026.
Jeff Rudy, 70, of Sunbury, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side
on March 19, 2026.
Jeff was born March 29, 1955. He was the son of Doris (Beck) Rudy and William Rudy, Sr. He
was the husband of Patti (Saxton) Rudy. In 1974 he graduated from Shikellamy High School
and worked for Weis Markets Meat Plant until his retirement.
Jeff loved watching old westerns and sports, especially Notre Dame, Green Bay Packers
and the Yankees. Some of his proudest moments were coaching his son's Little League
baseball teams, watching his son play sports, and walking his daughter down the aisle. He
enjoyed fishing with his son and grandson. Watching his grandchildren play when they
came to visit or just seeing them through FaceTime was one of his greatest joys.
Besides his family, Jeff had a strong love for animals, especially his beloved dogs, Abby and
Brittany. Their ashes will be laid to rest with him as they were his constant companions.
He is survived by his wife Patti (Saxton) Rudy who he was married to just 1 day shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Blake Gross, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mackenzie Rudy, grandchildren,
Landon Jeffrey Rudy, Avery Ann Rudy, Maggie Rose Gross, and Hailey Elizabeth Gross,
mother-in-law, Doris Young and two brothers and three sisters-in-law Dave and Karen Rudy,
Steve and Carol Rudy, Savilla Rudy, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Doris Rudy, brother William Rudy,
sister Kathy (Rudy) Papalia and granddaughter, Allison Clair Gross.
Friends and family may visit from 10-11a.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the Joseph W. Epler

11a.m. with Pastor Andrew Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery,
