James Amerson Obituary
James Hilbert Amerson, age 79, of Rentz passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family Thursday, January 4, 2024.
Mr. Amerson was born February 25, 1944 in Dublin to the late J.T. Amerson and the late Eunice Owens Amerson. He was a member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church. He retired from JP Stevens / Forstmann. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Amerson.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sybil Amerson of Rentz; daughter, Sherrie Swain of Cedar Grove; son, Kenneth (Robbie) Amerson of Rentz; grandchildren, Michelle Davis of Cedar Grove, Heather Wilson of Dublin, Brandi Witiw (Roland) of Conyers, and Jamie Amerson (Ashley) of Rentz; brothers, Earl Amerson of Macon, Andy Joe Amerson (Susan) of Cedar Grove, and Gary Amerson of Dublin; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home with interment to follow at Rentz Cemetery. Rev. Richard Wyatt will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Amerson, Joey Amerson, Daniel Yarbrough, Will Davis, Tim Amerson, and Jacob Amerson.
The family will be gathering at the Amerson home.
