Le sobreviven su amada esposa: María Montelongo, con quien compartió 53 años de matrimonio; sus hijos: José Montelongo, Ambrosio Montelongo, Yvette Montelongo y Karina Montelongo; sus 16 nietos y 27 bisnietos. sus hermanos: Genaro Montelongo, Clemente Montelongo, Alfredo Montelongo, Victoria Valdez, Julia Arellano, Valentina Villarreal, Lidia Ramírez y Letty Montelongo.
El velatorio se llevará a cabo de 9:00 a. m. a 2:30 p.m. el Viernes 12 de Septiembre de 2025 en la Funeraria Rivera, 1901 Pecan Blvd., en McAllen, con Servicio Religioso a las 2:00 p.m. El entierro se realizará a las 3:00 p. m. en el Cementerio La Piedad. Los servicios funerarios están a cargo de la Funeraria Rivera de McAllen.
